About Me

Hi! I am Mrs. Torres and I am so excited to have your child in my class this year. I graduated from The City College of New York with a BA in Childhood Education & earned my MA in Special Education. I’ve taught Special Education for a few years & 3rd grade General Ed. This is my 8th year teaching.

I’m a native New Yorker. My family & I moved from NYC in 2016. It’s been a real big cultural shock that took some getting used to, but moving to Texas has been such a blessing! I absolutely love Texas & I love the school, people, and students that I get to be with here at FCE.

My family comes from Puerto Rico. I love to sing & dance to Salsa music. I have been married for 8 years to my husband Santos. We have a son name Liam and he is 5 years old. We welcomed our daughter Valerie into the world on March 3rd, 2019. I also have an identical twin sister named Irene. We love to Karaoke together! 

My family and I are very active in our church. I help coordinate live worship and planning in our Kids Life Ministry. I am looking forward in getting to know your child and the families.
